Editorial Review
A tiny place with very British charcteristics, from the homey decor and English waitresses to the tables with oilcloth and mismatched chairs. The food is very UK and most enjoyable, whether Welsh rarebit, shepherd's pie, bangers & mash, or any of the many British delights. But the real winners are the myriad desserts, from spotted dick & custard to sticky toffee pudding and that wonderful afternoon tea for two with a big three-tiered tray of gooey desserts. Weekend brunch is a packed affair, and Sunday roast beef dinners are also wildly popular. True, the tables are very close to each other and you must absolutely wait outside if there is no table available. But play by the management's rules and you'll be rewarded here again and again.
