Editorial Review
Suba is a hotbed of LES (lower east side) fashion, design, sound and food. Chef Seamus Mullen cranks out critically acclaimed contemporary Spanish cuisine, while trendy DJs crank out the tunes, and young fashionistas crank out the attitude.
Suba is probably best known for its basement dining room, known as "the Grotto." The Grotto is a tiny 600 foot dining island surrounded by a shimmering pool of water, illuminated by over 50 underwater lights. A great date spot, but reserve far in advance and make sure you specifically request the Grotto.
