Ametller

After one of Christopher Street's favorite cafes (with requisite backyard seating) closed, locals scratched their heads as to where they could nurse a cup of coffee, bang away on their laptops and get something decent to eat after the caffeine high wore off. The crowd at Doma to the north had become too thick, too predictable and the menu rather Prague 1999. Now there is hope: with terrific Catalan dishes and a relaxed, low-attitude atmosphere, Ametller ("almond tree") pleases even the most overstressed GV would-be Bohemian.
