The Young Knives
Luna Lounge
$12
With a heavy nod in the direction of Parklife-era Britpop, UK trio, The Young Knives combine Mod and Punk influences to create their sing/ speak song structures. Those who have a fetish for knees should check them out as they wear matching suits with shorts. Hubba hubba…

The Decemberists
Landmark Lowes Theatre
$27.50 (All ages)
Moving from strength to strength, The Decemberists released their first major label effort, The Crane Wife in 2006. Critical acclaim rained down on them as did other media attention, most notably in the form of Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central’s, Colbert Report who challenged guitarist Chris Funk to a guitar solo competition on the show late last year. True to form, Colbert piked out and conveniently, one Peter Frampton was on hand and stepped in for Cobert. Cheeky monkey.

Fratellis
Mercury Lounge
$12
Yes, it’s that iPod song you can’t get out of your head. You know the one by those Scots who just nabbed themselves a Brit Award last month as "Best British Breakthrough Act"? The Fratellis may have arrived at the "brandy in the den" portion of the whole cross-over indie-rock dinner party but don’t dismiss them unduly because these lads know their way around a song (complete with bah-da-bahs!).

You Am I
Bowery Ballroom
$15
Aussie upstarts, You Am I are heavily influenced by the classics; everyone from Hank Williams to The Who. Equally capable of blistering all-out rock jams that would make Audioslave blush as sentimental ballads that’ll see you crying in your beer, Tim Rogers’ song-writing capabilities astound. Rogers’ shtick is too taunt the audience and boast that he’ll "steal your girlfriend"and you know.....he probably could.
