Teddybears - Soft Machine

Teddybears - Soft Machine
Atlantic/ Big Beat
Released: September 26

Borrowing their name from Phil Spector's 60's outfit, The Teddybears, this Swedish outfit meld monster ragga themes along side dizzy synth-pop, new wave clashes and electro-rock. Intriguingly they're chameleons of their craft. Just as you think you've got them pegged, they pivot and wriggle out of the pigeon-hole in which you've so cleverly placed them.

Stand out tracks include the classic-before its time, Punkrocker (featuring Iggy Pop), Yours To Keep (featuring Neneh Cherry), and Different Sound.

The party is clearly not over.

***1/2 (3.5 stars)
