So I'm from the UK and have lived here for the past 28 years. I am based in rural England with a husband, 2 kids, school runs, bake sales, ballet classes... you know, a typical soccer mum. Originally from Burma, my family moved here when I was 9, so I am pretty much a Brit now.
The last time I was in New York was in December 1995, totally loved the placed and although I swear I didn't meet any real Americans (we have so many Burmese friend out there) I still hold some wonderful memories of my trip. I am happy to be going back in November this year, to run in the ING NYC Marathon. Not only am I excited to be taking part in this awe inspiring event but I can't wait to see New York through different eyes, as a grown-up I guess, just as the city herself will have changed and evolved. I am determined to meet some great people this time, some 'real Americans'!
