Editorial Review
The Hotel Lollipop is located on the Upper West Side, just steps from Central Park, outdoor cafes, shops and more. The Hotel Lollipop offers shared bath accommodations in one of Manhattan's best neighborhoods, at a modest price. (In other words, your room does not have a private shower/bath.) The hotel is convenient to public transport, being located next to the 1 and 9 train at Broadway and West 86th. The Museum of Natural History and the Hayden Planetarium are just steps away. This is a good option for the budget minded travelers looking to spend most of their time exploring the city.
The guest rooms are small and very basic. Linens and towels are provided. The common bathroom facilities are located in the hallway. The Hotel Lollipop also offers Internet access, complimentary luggage storage, and a guest kitchen. Reception is open 24-hours a day, and this property is family friendly.
For those who have not experienced extremely basic hostels before, this would not be the place to start. Reviews continue to express concern over the quality of the furnishings, and other hostels in Manhattan represent a better value.
