John Steinbeck's timeless story of life during the Great Depression—well, one of them—returns to Braodway's Longacre Theatre, marking the stage debut of James Franco in the role of George and Chris O'Dowd as Lennie, two men who can see the promised land in front of them but can't seem to get any closer. As the simple-minded behemoth Lennie plods along, a constant wrench in George's plans, the story of friendship and responsibility barrels along towards either the American Dream or the American nightmare. This production also features Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester and Olivier and Tony Award-winner Jim Norton!
