Editorial Review
Kristin Scott Thomas and Peter Sarsgaard star in Chekhov's masterpiece.
Hailed as Anton Chekhov's first masterpiece,
The Seagull
is set during a turning point in Russian history and involves young Konstantin, who is struggling to define himself as a writer. When his mother, the famous actress Arkadina, and her lover Trigorin arrive to spend the summer at her family's country home, their presence wreaks havoc on the rest of the family.
This production of
The Seagull
comes to Broadway from The Royal Court Theatre in London, where it enjoyed an acclaimed run. Academy Award nominee Kristin Scott Thomas reprises her performance of Arkadina, for which she won an Olivier Award.
